Are you ready for a challenge? A 100 word challenge?
If the answer is yes then read on.
The 100 Word Challenge is a fortnightly creative writing challenge for you. I’ll give you a prompt, which sometimes is a picture or a series of individual words and the challenge is to use up to 100 words to write a creative piece. Each story must include the prompt and please highlight the prompt in your writing. Your story should be posted on our class blogs.
Each challenge starts off with a prompt, here is this fortnight’s
… 3, 2, 1, jump …
I would really like you to use your imaginations and perhaps not go down the blood and gore route.
Happy writing. I’m really looking forward to reading some stories soon.
Mrs Shep
Hi Mrs Shep It’s Emily. This is the story I wrote for the 100 word challenge. Enjoy!
“Come on just jump already!” My friend Melody and I were standing on the edge of the pier of Old Watchman beach. “Come on we haven’t got all day!” shouted Stella, one of the bullies. “Come on Em we gotta jump!” said Melody. I was standing holding Melody’s hand trembling with fear. “Mel I can’t, I gotta back out.” I said fearfully. “Come on this is our only chance at popularity!” said Melody “Just jump already you losers!” shouted Felix “Come on Please?” Melody asked kindly. “But I… okay fine.” I said giving up “Ready?” “Ready.” 3 2 1 JUMP!
Hi Emily,
What a great story. Was it difficult to write?
Hi Mrs Shep It wasn’t hard at all! It was quite easy the prompt gave me an idea of a beach straight away and I went from there! I also used Microsoft Word for writing just so I could keep track of how many words I used.
That’s good to hear Emily.
